The rise in the migration level arose when the government of Australia, due to COVID-era, introduced unlimited working hours for international students, aiming to share migrant intake over 2 years.

However, the rise in the number of migrants has resulted in a high rental market and a shortage of housing in the country. Therefore, the higher authorities will be responsible to suspend educational institutions that violate the country’s regulations while recruiting students for study visas.

Furthermore, the Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil highlighted that these regulations are crucial to reducing the migration rates and correcting deficiencies within the current system.

In addition, a new regulation known as a “Genuine Student Test” will be introduced to shortlist the genuine students looking for this visa. Also, a “No Further Stay” condition will be applied for the visitors to discourage further stays in the country.
